Usually for the working day and a set period afterward. We give you the exact re-entry time in writing beforehand, typically 24 hours for occupants on residential work, so you can plan childcare, pets and work schedules around it rather than finding out on the morning.

Ideally yes, and we’ll tell you exactly which areas need clearing during the assessment — it’s usually less than people expect. If access is genuinely difficult, we factor it into the quote rather than surprising you on install day.

Sometimes we add to it, sometimes it has to come out first. Wet, compressed or rodent-contaminated insulation gets removed. Dry batts in a floor cavity can often stay. We’ll tell you which after we look, and removal is quoted as its own line so you can see what that part actually costs.

Usually, yes — it’s one of the most common calls we get. That room sits over an unconditioned space with cold air on three or four sides, and the floor cavity is often barely insulated. Closed-cell foam in the garage ceiling plus sealing the band around the floor typically makes it usable again.

Honestly, it depends on what’s wrong. A rim joist or crawl space job is inexpensive, fixes a complaint a buyer’s inspector will notice, and comes with documentation you can hand over. A full attic retrofit is a bigger number to recover in two years. Tell us your timeline at the assessment and we’ll say which side of that line you’re on.

Occupied is normal — most of our residential work is in houses people live in. We seal off the work area, run ventilation to the outside, and give you a written re-entry time. On larger jobs we can phase the work so you’re never locked out of the whole house at once.
